Report: Update On 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin's WWE WrestleMania 38 Plans

Will Austin wrestle?

While 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin's in-ring return looked all but confirmed for WrestleMania 38, that may no longer be the case.

Reporting in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted Austin will be involved at The Showcase Of The Immortals but it is not certain that he will face Kevin Owens in a match. It is believed The Texas Rattlesnake has still not committed to working a match at 'Mania but at the very least he will confront Owens inside AT&T Stadium.

How the confrontation will play out is currently unknown beyond that it will be more than Austin just hitting Owens with a Stunner. WWE still do want Austin to face Owens in a match, however.

Even if a match has yet to be confirmed, Kevin Owens is still moving the angle along, constantly insulting Texas at WWE shows and on social media.

If Austin does return, it would be his first match since WrestleMania 19 in 2003 when he lost to The Rock in what was later revealed to be the WWE Hall Of Famer's retirement match.
