Report: Update On WWE Women's Tag Title Scene

The WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles have been vacant since May

The WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships have been vacant since May, when champions Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out on WWE.

Original reports suggested that a tournament to crown new champions was imminent, but a report from Fightful Select suggests that may not be the case.

The report mentions how talent in WWE haven’t heard of plans for a tournament, and are unsure when or indeed if a tournament will even happen. The report also states that talent have allegedly heard no discussion of the titles at all since the original announcement.

It’s fair to say that WWE’s women’s tag division is very thin on the ground at the moment, with Sasha and Naomi gone, whilst the team of Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley was split, and veteran Natalya currently in a singles feud with Ronda Rousey. Indeed, there may only be one established team on the roster right now (Nikki ASH and Doudrop) but a union between Asuka and Alexa Bliss may become permanent after they were successful on the latest episode of WWE Raw.

Given the whims of WWE, don’t be surprised if the main roster Women’s Tag Team Titles are quietly dropped, but again anything could happen.
