Report: Why Santos Escobar Vs. Karrion Kross Was Pushed Back To Next Week's WWE NXT Revealed

The match was supposed to take place last night

The rivalry between Santos Escobar and Karrion Kross was supposed to come to a head on last night's edition of NXT but the match was ultimately pulled from the show.

Escobar appeared in a pre-taped promo during NXT and told William Regal he wouldn't be competing and drove home. The NXT general manager acknowledged the Legado Del Fantasma leader's promo but announced he will face Karrion Kross next week or he will be stripped of the NXT Cruiserweight Championship.

According to Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer, the match was supposed to take place on last night's show but a medical reason forced WWE to push it back.

Meltzer said: "There was a medical reason that I heard yesterday, Tuesday, that the match wasn't going to take place. So it's not a storyline. It was a storyline out of necessity, not a planned storyline. The match was supposed to happen on tonight's show and it could not. I was really surprised that they announced it for next week but they did."

If Escobar will be stripped of the NXT Cruiserweight Championship ultimately remains to be seen but Jordan Devlin will be desperate for the match not to take place so he can become the sole champion.
