Report: WWE Cancels Day 1 PPV

Day 1 debuted in early 2022

WWE Day 1, scheduled to take place on Sunday, January 1 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, has been canceled, according to an exclusive report from Wrestlenomics.

There are also reportedly no plans to reschedule the event.

While no reason has been given for the cancellation, Wrestlenomics speculates that it could have to do with scheduling. As New Years Day is a Sunday, Day 1 would’ve gone head to head with the final Sunday Night Football game of the season. The game airs on NBC, and NBC Universal is one of WWE’s main business partners.

WWE has not confirmed that the event is canceled as of this writing.

If Day 1 is indeed canceled, this would mean that there would be no main roster pay-per-views between Survivor Series on November 26 and Royal Rumble on January 28.

WWE debuted Day 1 on Saturday, January 1, 2022 from State Farm Arena in Atlanta. On the card, Brock Lesnar won the WWE title in a five-way bout, while Becky Lynch retained the Raw Women’s title over Liv Morgan.
