Report: WWE NXT Star's Contract Expiring Soon

Could a jump to AEW be on the cards...

In recent months, NXT has established itself on the USA network with Keith Lee, Tommaso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano, Rhea Ripley, and Adam Cole as the cornerstones of the brand. Cole, in particular, has been presented as the star of the black and gold brand and his record-breaking NXT Championship reign is set to eclipse 365 days on June 1.

Cole might not be NXT Champion for much longer, however, as Paul Davis at WrestlingNews.co reported the Leader of The Undisputed ERA's contract is set to expire in the summer. Cole signed a three-year deal with WWE back in August 2017 which would mean his contract will end in three months unless he signs a new contract.

The wrestling behemoth will likely try to re-sign Cole in the coming months but his girlfriend All Elite Wrestling Star Britt Baker recently said she would like to see the three-time ROH World Champion appear in the ring with The Elite again "in the near future."

The Role Model said: "And then recently they've (WWE) changed their tune and he was able to come to our new year's show. And it's great for him too because this is his family, like The Young Bucks and Adam Cole go way back… I hope there is a day in the near future where Adam Cole can be in the ring with The Young Bucks and Kenny and Cody and it'll come full circle and we can be one giant happy family."
