Report: WWE Raw Undergoes Numerous Rewrites Once Again

The 17 May edition of WWE Monday Night Raw was reportedly the subject of late, heavy rewrites once again. 

The most recent Raw saw Kofi Kingston battle twice, defeating both Randy Orton and WWE Champion Bobby Lashley, while also containing a number of segments pertaining to WWE Superstars considering stepping up to Lashley's Open Challenge at the close of the show. 

While not inherently the worst Raw ever, there were a handful of repetitive moments and, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, the show was once again the subject of a number of rewrites. 

Meltzer notes in his daily update that Raw underwent several rewrites but was repeatedly 'torn up', and was still in the process of being put together and finalised just a couple of hours before the show actually went live. 

It isn't the first time in recent weeks that Raw has undergone late creative changes. It appears to have been a consistent issue since WrestleMania 37 for the red brand, with the creative team notably being instructed to tear up plans for a reported Orton and Braun Strowman feud, and replace them with Orton's current angle with Riddle.
