Report: WWE Re-Signs Erick Rowan

Erick Rowan re-signs with WWE

Following weeks of rumours, it has been reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider that Erick Rowan has officially signed a new deal with WWE. When Rowan will resurface on WWE TV is unknown but he is once again under contract as a WWE Superstar.

Rowan has been linked with a WWE return over the past several weeks after he pulled out of his indy dates. The return of Uncle Howdy has also been teased on WWE TV through QR codes and screen flickers and the expectation is Rowan will link up with Howdy.

Rowan previously performed for WWE from 2011 until his release in 2020. He was part of the Wyatt Family with Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper (Brodie Lee), and Braun Strowman across two spells until 2017. Rowan then formed the Bludgeon Brothers with Luke Harper before they split off due to injury, at which point Rowan became the bodyguard and then tag team partner of Daniel Bryan.

Their partnership would end in late 2019 and Rowan would receive a push of sorts, being featured on TV carrying a cage to the ring. It would later be revealed a giant spider was kept in the cage. It was then murdered on TV by Drew McIntyre.

Following his WWE release, Rowan performed as Erick Redbeard on the indies and a handful of times in All Elite Wrestling. He has also pursued acting, appearing in one movie and four TV shows, including season one of Jeremy Renner's Mayor of Kingstown.
