Report: WWE Talent Worried About Cuts Following Vince McMahon's Return

WWE talents fear releases could be on the way

Only months after he exited the company as CEO and Chairman, Vince McMahon returned to WWE on January 5, electing himself, Michelle Wilson, and George Barrios to the Board of Directors. The 77-year-old is pursuing a WWE sale, which he holds final approval over as majority shareholder, and JPMorgan have been hired to help advise on any possible sale. Should any deal be possible, it is expected to take place within the next six months.

McMahon's return has caused anxiety to rise within WWE, though, and Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that talents are worried about cuts.

"The morale was much better [without Vince McMahon]. Now, everyone's worried again, because it's like if Vince is in charge and they're trying to sell, does that mean they're going to start doing cuts again?" Meltzer said.

McMahon held mass layoffs of WWE talent during his final years as CEO and Chairman. Some of those wrestlers have since been brought back, including the likes of Bray Wyatt, Braun Strowman, and Karrion Kross.
