Roman Reigns: John Cena Is Levels Below Me In This WWE Game

Reigns & Cena will lock up at SummerSlam 2021

Roman Reigns has issued a warning to John Cena ahead of WWE SummerSlam 2021, telling the 16-time World Champion he is 'levels below' The Head Of The Table.

Reigns and Cena will do battle over the Universal Championship in the main event of SummerSlam on Saturday 21 August. With the two expected to put on one of the biggest matches of the year, Reigns says Cena has to hide behind his colourful gimmick to be relevant.

The reigning Universal Champion says Cena has been smart in coming after him to help promote his new movie, Suicide Squad, but says he is miles above the iconic WWE performer.

Appearing on the Pat McAfee Show, Reigns said: "There's a lot of good things John has done, obviously, Make-A-Wish, very charitable guy. When it comes to our profession of sports entertainment, he's levels below me in this game. Entertainment is storytelling. I'm the greatest storyteller of our generation and our time.

"He's a big name and a big star, but he, like so many other greats, they camouflage themselves and disguise themselves. You see me every Friday night, I have to dull this sh*t down. I come out there in sweatpants and J's. I don't throw on the crazy colours and wear wristbands all over my body or make myself something that I'm not.

"There's a lot of different things about John that we can connect to and the good things he does. To me, if he would have just come here and promote his movies - Suicide Squad is a good movie, yay, go watch it - he can open the show and pep up the crowd and I'll stay in the main event where I belong and I'll close the show.

"He's smart. If I was him and was promoting that movie and wanted to get that buzz, you go to the island of relevancy, you go to the Tribal Chief and you find the biggest thing cooking and that's me. He's trying to use my name to promote his movie. James Gunn, you're welcome."

With Reigns and Cena set to collide in less than two weeks in Las Vegas, the Tribal Chief offered a prediction for how the match was going to go down, advising his opponent to not show up at SummerSlam 2021.

He continued: "It's going to be an ugly night in Vegas. It's going to be like when you get smashed at the table. You're up big and you feel, 'Oh man, we're going home with some money, but let's keep going.' If he is smart, he'd cash out right now.

"We'll give him Friday. Let's have fun, cut promos on each other, but then cash out. Go to Europe and start filming. Don't go to Vegas because we're going to smash you, pack you on a private jet, and send you across the pond.

"Get while the getting is good, the table is hot, but it's time to leave. I'm about to shut it down. Just like I did the legends at WrestleMania. I stacked em, pinned em, retired em. The other one hasn't figured out yet, he's pretty much done too. Cena is on the same path."
