Ronda Rousey Wins SmackDown Women's Title At WWE Extreme Rules

Liv Morgan's reign as SmackDown Women's Champion is over and Ronda Rousey is a champion in WWE once again.

Morgan and Rousey faced off in an Extreme Rules Match for the SmackDown Women's Title at Extreme Rules on October 8 in their third bout. The contest featured a baseball bat, steel chairs, and Morgan putting Rousey through a table with a Senton. It was ultimately a submission that scored the win, though, as Rousey transitioned from an Armbar into a Bicep Crusher. Liv faded which prompted the referee to call for the bell. 

With her win, Ronda Rousey becomes a three-time women's champion in WWE. She previously held the Raw Women's Title for 231 days in 2018 and 2019 before dropping the gold at WrestleMania 35. She then became SmackDown Women's Champion for the first time this year, defeating Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania Backlash. She would lose the title at Money In The Bank 55 days later when Morgan cashed in her MITB briefcase. 

Liv and Rousey had feuded ever since, with Morgan retaining her title in dubious circumstances at SummerSlam. Rousey was then suspended before returning a few weeks later, with Morgan challenging her to the Extreme Rules Match on October 8 soon after.
