Scott D'Amore On WWE Releases: "There Was Definitely Some Talent There That I Could See Gracing An IMPACT Wrestling Ring"

Several WWE Superstars lost their jobs last week and the likes of Samoa Joe, Chelsea Green, Mickie James, Billie Kay, Peyton Royce and Tucker will be looking for new opportunities when July rolls around. 

IMPACT Wrestling Executive Vice President Scott D'Amore was asked about the releases on Sitting Ringside With David Penzer and he noted he's open to bringing in some of the released talent.  

"The one thing is I'm kind of curious about the fact that people seem to be shocked this happened. If you look at it historically this is exactly what happens. They do WrestleMania, they get through that and then they make some adjustments to their talent roster. But certainly, as I was sitting, working away from my patio table... my phone started lighting up. I looked at stuff. There was definitely some talent there that I could see gracing an IMPACT Wrestling ring," D'Amore said. 

"It's always unfortunate when any talent gets let go. That's one of the unfortunate sides of the business. That's a part of any business. And to me, like so many of the people did last year, they have great opportunities for these people to pick up this setback and turn it into something cool and something that can propel them forward. So I think it's going to be an interesting time over the next 90 days and let's see where everybody lands in July."

If IMPACT will bring anybody in ultimately remains to be seen, but the company ended up signing several released WWE Superstars around Slammiversary last year including The Good Brothers, Deonna Purrazzo, Heath, Brian Myers and Eric Young.
