Shaquille O'Neal Pitches AEW Tag Team Match With Paul Wight
Could we finally get the long awaited Shaq/Paul Wight clash in AEW?
For years we wondered if we’d ever see Shaquille O’Neal in a wrestling ring, with the NBA legend long touted for a showdown with Paul Wight (AKA The Big Show).
The two would eventually tangle during the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 32, before Shaq made his way to AEW to team with Jade Cargill against Cody Rhodes and Red Velvet in 2021.
It seems the wrestling bug hasn’t left Shaq though, as he has pitched teaming against Wight in an AEW ring, saying the following to Diamond Sheik on Twitter:
“You know who I am. I’m the man who beat Cody Rhodes. You're lucky you're training with Cody. Anyways, I want to deliver two messages. Number one, nobody messes with The Diamond Sheik, and two, to present this new Diamond Championship belt,” said Shaq.
Shaq continued: “Cody, whoever else wants it, Big Show. As a matter of fact, oh no, he’s in LA. Tell you what, Diamond Sheik and Shaq vs. Big Show and whoever else you want. Let’s go, AEW.”
