Shinsuke Nakamura Fuels Speculation On WWE Situation

"Who said I’m happy?"

Shinsuke Nakamura has seemingly suggested he is unhappy with his current status in WWE after responding to comments on his Instagram page.

Nakamura took to the social media platform to further the developing angle between himself and the recently turned-heel Apollo Crews, on which one fan commented that the Japanese superstar should 'stop wasting' his talents with WWE.

The message promoted another follower of Nakamura's Instagram account to respond with "He's happy. He gets to surf and work a safer style." The response, in turn, got a message from the former Intercontinental and United States champion himself.

Replying to the two previous comments in the thread, Nakamura wrote: "Who said I’m happy? Don't believe anything other than what I said."

Nakamura's reply has fuelled speculation as to whether the superstar is genuinely unhappy with his standing in WWE, or if the 41-year-old is merely commenting on rumours regarding his own feelings.

The King Of Strong Style captured the collective imagination of WWE fans during his NXT run, and seemed set for a WWE Championship reign after winning the 2018 Royal Rumble. Since defeat at WrestleMania 34 to AJ Styles, however, Nakamura's status in the company has diminished, with the experienced wrestler more utilised in the mid-card.

A recent gauntlet match on SmackDown, during which Nakamura pinned Rey Mysterio, King Corbin and Daniel Bryan, saw The Artist turn face once again and led to speculation he could be set for another push up the card. However, reports since indicate that WWE see Nakamura as a competitor who can help to create new stars, which is in line with the angle between him and Apollo Crews currently playing out.
