Tomohiro Ishii Wins NEVER Openweight Title At NJPW Battle In The Valley

The Stone Pitbull is a six-time champion

Tomohiro Ishii is NEVER Openweight Champion once again.

The Stone Pitbull challenged Jay White for the gold at NJPW's Battle In The Valley show on Saturday, November 13 with the added stipulation that if Ishii lost, he would never be able to challenge for the NEVER Openweight Title again.

Both men fought back and forth in an epic 28-minute main event and Ishii avoided a Bladerunner down the stretch before he followed up with a Release Dragon Suplex, a Lariat and his Vertical Drop Brainbuster finisher for the 1-2-3.

With the win, Ishii is officially a six-time NEVER Openweight Champion. He last held the title for 83 days back in the summer of 2019.

Battle In The Valley won't be Ishii's only match in the United States. The Stone Pitbull competed at West Coast Pro Wrestling's show on November 12 and he is scheduled to team with new CHAOS member Orange Cassidy against The Butcher and The Blade on the Wednesday, November 17 edition of Dynamite.
