Toni Storm Had Planned To Retire From Pro Wrestling

Toni Storm considered retirement

Toni Storm seemingly planned to retire from professional wrestling following her WWE departure.

The former NXT UK Women's Champion was granted her release from WWE in December of 2021, with the prevailing belief being she left the company due to professional burnout.

Storm has since signed with All Elite Wrestling, debuting in the promotion on March 30, and the 26-year-old admitted on the latest AEW Road To that she planned to retire from pro wrestling.

"Recently, I planned on retiring from the wrestling industry, which is something I never considered in my entire life. I've put my entire life into becoming the best professional wrestler I could be. I lost that part of myself and it brought on a lot of feelings of emptiness and sadness that I can't even describe," Storm began.

"I travelled the entire world to be good at this. Just like Owen Hart did. AEW is home to the best women's division on the planet. I just qualified for the Owen Hart women's tournament. For the first time ever, I can truly say that I am home."

Storm defeated The Bunny in her AEW debut to qualify for the Women's Owen Hart Foundation tournament. Jamie Hayter also qualified for the tournament on Friday's episode of Rampage, defeating Skye Blue.
