Tony D'Angelo Suffers Injury During WWE NXT Tapings

Tony D'Angelo sustains an injury

Tony D'Angelo could be set for a stint on the shelf.

WWE NXT held TV tapings at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, on Wednesday, September 14. The tapings did not end without any issues, though, and WrestlingNews.co have reported that D'Angelo sustained a knee injury during his match.

The match was quickly stopped and D'Angelo was checked over by trainers. There is currently no word on the severity of the injury or if the match will air in the coming weeks.

D'Angelo has been a featured act over the last year on WWE NXT, very much being established as part of the 2.0 new breed along with the likes of Bron Breakker, Grayson Waller, and Carmelo Hayes. The Don of NXT has had several high-profile feuds on the developmental brand during that time with the likes of Tommaso Ciampa, Pete Dunne (now Butch), and Legado Del Fantasma.

D'Angelo was locked in a programme with Cameron Grimes at the time of his injury but if that storyline can continue remains to be seen.
