Triple H Addresses Britt Baker Being Shown At WWE NXT TakeOver: WarGames
She was in attendance to watch boyfriend, Adam Cole
To end their WarGames match, Tommaso Ciampa and Adam Cole plummeted from the top of the cage through two tables, with Ciampa then covering the NXT champion for the 1-2-3.
After the match, the camera panned to Cole's girlfriend, current AEW star, Dr Britt Baker. Commentator Mauro Ranallo then brought it up on commentary. With an AEW wrestler being shown in WWE, many within the wrestling world wondered if this had been intentional or a complete accident.
When asked about it during the media call following NXT TakeOver: WarGames, WWE COO Triple H said: “Dude, they took a shot, I swear this. The director who took a shot didn't know who it was. Just went to the woman in the crowd that had the most concerned, crazy look on her face, and he took the shot...I don't have a problem with it in any way shape or form, but then to not address it, then its the elephant in the room.”
He added: “I would never want to put a talent in that position. I get why she's here. I get who she's here with. And I would never want to put her in a position where I took a shot of her and it get's her heat, or it gets her to have a problem with her employer's and people and what she's doing.”
Therefore, as opposed to being another chapter in the Wednesday Night Wars, it was just a simple misunderstanding.
