Triple H Reveals Future WWE Plans

Triple H details his WWE future

During an interview on ESPN's First Take with Stephen A. Smith that aired on Friday, Triple H announced his retirement from in-ring competition, noting that he now had an ICD in his chest following a cardiac event in September of 2021.

The Game revealed he suffered from viral pneumonia in the cardiac event and his heart began to fail due to a genetic disorder which resulted in his ejection fraction being as low as 12%, way below a healthy ejection fraction of between 50-70%.

Speaking further in the interview, Triple H revealed that while he won't be an in-ring performer anymore, he has returned to the office to continue in his role as Executive Vice President of Global Talent Strategy & Development.

"My foot's not off the gas. I suppose in some manner I've got to step back a little bit. I'm still in recovery and my endurance is not exactly quite what it used to be before. But right now, I'm back. I'm at the office. I am fully focused on recruiting and development of our talent in the future. Whether that's building more performance centers, whether that's finding the next young stud that's out there -- male or female," Triple H said.

"Like Gable Steveson... recently two-time NCAA champion, gold medallist at the Olympics. His next step is, as you saw him leaving his shoes on the mat the other day, his next step is with WWE and with us. It's finding that. It's creating that future. That's the biggest focus for me. And as we move forward from there, it's making sure that WWE is a success for generations to come."
