UFC Owners Open To Buying WWE

Could WWE be sold to UFC's owners?

A major corporation are interested in purchasing WWE.

Speaking on The Town podcast, Endeavor President Mark Shapiro revealed they would be interested in buying the professional wrestling company.

"That would be something that would be interesting and worth exploring. Would we buy it? Who knows? Last I checked, it wasn't for sale. We're interested in anything in the owned sports properties segment," Shapiro said.

Endeavor are the parent company of UFC, having bought a controlling interest in the MMA organisation in 2016 for just over $4 billion. WWE's market value is believed to be approximately $5.63 billion.

There was speculation about a WWE sale following Vince McMahon's resignation as CEO and Chairman on July 22 which caused a major boost in the company's stock price but there has been no hint that WWE are looking to sell. Any sale would still need to be approved by Vince McMahon as he remains the company's majority shareholder.

Organisations touted in the past as potential buyers of WWE include Disney, Comcast, Amazon, Netflix, and FOX.
