More details have emerged about Beth Phoenix leaving WWE and what the future may hold
After being removed from WWE’s official roster page, it was reported by PWInsider that Hall Of Famer Beth Phoenix’s time with the promotion has come to an end upon the expiration of her contract. Fightful Select provided some more details about this, including potential plans for her to join AEW.
In terms of conditioning, it is noted that Phoenix is in terrific shape and looks able to compete again if that is what she wishes, despite not wrestling any matches for well over a year, and only competing sporadically since her retirement in 2012.
Given her husband Adam Copeland (FKA Edge) is currently in AEW (though the former two-time TNT Champion is out injured), there is talk of her joining him in the company. It has reportedly been something brought up backstage in AEW, though there have been no concrete plans or known conversations with Phoenix. A source in AEW noted that it would be likely that she would only return when Copeland is back from injury, perhaps working alongside him. There is also outside interest in Phoenix, with several promoters enquiring if she was taking bookings.
