Update On Finn Balor's Status After WWE SummerSlam 2019

Bray Wyatt's return opponent for the biggest party of the summer...

Earlier this week WWE announced that Finn Balor will be taking on Bray Wyatt at SummerSlam on August 11.

Billed as The Fiend's in-ring debut, the in-ring return of Wyatt will be against the standard Finn Balor, even though you would have been forgiven for thinking the Irishman would call upon his unbeatable demon persona when faced with such a formidable foe.

This looks to be one of the more predictable matches on the SummerSlam card, with former Universal Champion Balor seemingly on his way to eating a pretty devastating loss. This is because he asked for time away from WWE recently, a request the company granted. When that time off was actually going to happen, however, wasn't clear...

Per a report from this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it looks like Balor's time away from WWE will be starting immediately after that SummerSlam match with Wyatt, as Dave Meltzer is reporting the company have no plans for Finn going forwards: "Some have thought Balor would enter the club. Of course anything is possible at some point but right now there are no plans in that direction. There are actually no plans with Balor after SummerSlam since he’s leaving on a two-month sabbatical at that time."
