Vince McMahon Admits He Expected More From His Family Members

Brutal from McMahon

Throughout WWE's history, Vince McMahon's family have been heavily involved in the running of the company. Vince's wife Linda McMahon previously served as the company's CEO, while daughter Stephanie previously worked on WWE creative and is currently the promotion's Chief Brand Officer.

Vince's son Shane McMahon was also previously influential within the company but he resigned from his position as Executive Vice President of Global Media in October 2009 before returning as an on-air talent and occasional producer of Royal Rumble matches in 2016.

The question of who will succeed Vince McMahon as CEO of WWE remains unanswered despite the WWE Chairman now being 76-years-old but Pat McAfee did press McMahon on the issue during their interview on Thursday.

Vince revealed he ultimately does not think about it before he admitted he expected more from his family members.

"No, I don't think about it a lot. Hopefully, if you, if you built something, you want it to continue on, you know, and prosper and grow. Whether that's with a family member or without a family member. Because my view, this business is, is best for everybody, whether you're a part of it or you're not a part of it, and you have to treat it as such," McMahon said.

"You have to be objective, you know, and look at family members or whoever it is just as you would other employees. And quite frankly, I've probably expected more, you know out of my family members, which is probably not the right thing to say. But nonetheless, it's like, you have to do the right thing for the business. So if this person is not working out, then they shouldn't be a part of the company."

Plenty of talking points arose from the McMahon interview and you can get a full breakdown here.
