West Ham United's Declan Rice Challenges Chelsea's Mason Mount To WWE Championship Steel Cage Match

They may be England international teammates on the football pitch, and best friends in real life, but Declan Rice and Mason Mount are ready to battle inside a Steel Cage over the WWE Championship! 

Both of the Three Lions midfielders were presented with WWE Championships, courtesy of the promotion, while undertaking media duties as a part of West Ham United's and Chelsea's respective broadcasting commitments, with Rice laying down the challenge to his long-time mate. 

The Hammers' vice-captain even added the gruelling stipulation of a Steel Cage Match to determine, once and for all, who the true Champion was between him and Mount.

Appearing on BT Sport's The Run-In, Rice put the Title over his shoulder and told Mount, down the camera: ""Mase, when this belt’s on the line, me and you ain’t friends mate.

"Cage match, I’m taking you up top and I’m putting you through. Simple as that, mate. This is mine. One champ, and one champ only!"

Mount for his part, only had one thing for Rice in response, waving his hand in front of his face in imitation of the iconic John Cena, who faces Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at WWE SummerSlam 2021 on Saturday evening. 

Professional footballers on the pitch, best friends away from it. Could we see Rice and Mount in a WWE ring?
