Why Patrick Mahomes Was A Heel On WWE Raw

Why Patrick Mahomes wasn't a babyface on WWE Raw revealed

Despite being the quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs and one of the biggest names in the city, Patrick Mahomes acted as a heel on Monday's taping of Raw.

Raw aired from Kansas City and Mahomes arrived at the arena alongside Logan Paul and IShowSpeed. The three-time Super Bowl MVP was at ringside throughout the show and Mahomes ended up trying to help Logan Paul and Judgment Day beat down Jey Uso, giving Logan Paul his three Super Bowl rings to punch Uso. The United States Champion ended up missing the punch, though, and he accidentally levelled JD McDonagh instead.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Mahomes was treated as a heel on Raw as the segment was booked by PRIME, the energy drink company co-owned by Logan Paul.

"Patrick Mahomes was a total heel on this show, even though he is a babyface. The reason behind it was WWE did not book this segment. It was a sponsored segment, that's why Patrick Mahomes was there. Patrick Mahomes is a part of the PRIME energy drink that Logan Paul is also a part of so they basically sponsored the segment. They wanted Logan Paul and Patrick Mahomes to work together in an angle... It was not WWE being stupid. It was something the sponsors basically put together," Meltzer said.

Patrick Mahomes inked an endorsement deal with PRIME in December 2023. Cody Rhodes became the first WWE talent to sign a sponsorship deal with PRIME earlier this year.
