WWE Files Trademark For 'The Goddess'

A potential character change could be coming

Is Alexa Bliss set to revive an old gimmick? A new trademark filing from WWE suggests that is indeed the case.

WWE filed to trademark 'THE GODDESS' on January 19, with the term set to be used for professional wrestling performances and more.

The full filing is as follows:

"THE GODDESS™ trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely, blogs, in the field of sports entertainment."

'The Goddess' was the nickname used by Alexa Bliss during much of her career, particularly during her first five years on the main roster. The multi-time Women's Champion stopped being 'The Goddess' when she aligned with Bray Wyatt in the summer of 2020, though, and she has portrayed her Fiend-like character ever since, even following Wyatt's release from WWE.

Bliss had been away from WWE TV since September of 2021 but she returned in early January and has since been featured in therapy vignettes where she is prone to outbursts of anger.
