WWE NXT 2.0 Backstage Segment Scrapped

Last minute changes were made to the September 21 edition

It’s no secret that WWE television is prone to last minute changes, script rewrites, and segments being cut altogether, and it seems as though NXT 2.0 is very much in the same vein, as this week’s episode saw some last minute cuts being made.

Per a report from Fightful Select, the September 21 edition - the second under the new NXT 2.0 banner - was set to feature a backstage segment featuring several newer female talents, but it was ultimately cut.

No details have been discussed as to who was meant to be involved, nor what the segment was meant to be.

Fightful also reported that there have already been some stylistic changes to the NXT product, with changes to verbiage on this week’s show, as well as the removal of any links to drinking or bar culture when talking about Josh Briggs. It was earlier announced that WWE are allegedly making the product ‘edgier’ than it was previously.

Tuesday’s show featured seven matches, including Roderick Strong defeating Kushida for the Cruiserweight Championship, and Bron Breakker and NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa defeating Pete Dunne and Ridge Holland in the main event.
