WWE Raw results - March 29, 2021: The Road To WrestleMania 37 Continues

A faction disbands, a contract signing, a title match made for WrestleMania...

With less than two weeks until WWE WrestleMania 37, Raw confirmed another championship match, saw a stipulation added to an already set contest, and continued a number of storylines on their patch to ‘The Showcase Of the Immortals’.

The show opened in somewhat shocking fashion as WWE Champion Bobby Lashley declared The Hurt Business ‘is no more’. Lashley declared that he could no longer rely on Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander before attacking the former Raw Tag Team champions.

Later in the night, Benjamin would bravely step up to face Lashley in the ring. Despite a credible outing, the WWE Champion would best his former stablemate with The Hurt Lock. Alexander gets his own shot at Lashley next week.

Sheamus and Riddle were then set to meet in a non-title match, with the Celtic Warrior attacking the United States Champion before the match. It seemed to do the work, as Sheamus got the win over Riddle courtesy of a knee strike. Riddle was clearly unhappy about how this went down, attacking his opponent after the bell.

A United States Championship match between the two for WrestleMania 37 was then made.

Shane McMahon took to the ring with Elias and Jaxson Ryker to present an ‘expose’ on his WrestleMania opponent, Braun Strowman, which involved showing off a clearly fake school report card. Strowman would not take kindly to this, beating Ryker in quick fashion before declaring to McMahon that they would now be meeting inside a Steel Cage at WrestleMania 37.

It was then time for The Miz and John Morrison to present the world debut of their new single,  “Hey Hey, Hop Hop” on "The Dirt Sheet." They were interrupted by Miz’s WrestleMania opponent, Bad Bunny, and Damien Priest. Bunny would give Miz a taste of what’s to come at ‘Mania, laying out ‘The A-Lister’ with a right hand before destroying the set of ‘The Dirt Sheet’.

Raw Tag Team Champions The New Day then continued to try and show AJ Styles and Omos that they are not on the same wavelength, challenging them to a game of Charades and Pictionary. Naturally, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston won. Woods would also win the following match against Styles, albeit by disqualification, after Omos attacked him and Kingston before laying Woods out with a devastating slam.

Randy Orton had cut a backstage promo, explaining that he and ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt were cut from the same hellish cloth. Alexa Bliss would respond by saying ‘The Fiend’ had just been trapped after Orton’s actions at TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs, in December, and she brought him back at Fastlane. Then followed a chilling prediction. At WrestleMania, the Legend Killer dies.

Naomi would beat WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Shayna Baszler in singles action that seems to be setting up a WrestleMania tag team match. Lana pushed Nia Jax into Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke at ringside, with the confusion leading to Naomi’s win.

Tension would then rise between Raw Women’s Champion Asuka and Rhea Ripley, as The Nightmare flipped a table onto Asuka’s head during their contract signing. Baszler and Jax would then challenge the duo to a tag team match on next week’s Raw.

The closing match of the show would see Drew McIntyre defeat Ricochet. Throughout the show, the Scottish Warrior was seen visibly agitated by Bobby Lashley’s challenge to the WWE Raw locker room. McIntyre would end up confronting AJ Styles, Braun Strowman, Humberto Carillo and Drew Gulak throughout Raw before accepting a challenge from Ricochet.

While McIntyre would beat the highflier, Mustafa Ali would then try to step up. A Claymore Kick, and once again McIntyre was victorious.

A surprise was in store for the end of Raw however. As Lashley and McIntyre confronted each other, Smackdown’s King Corbin would attack McIntyre and help the WWE Champion to lay out his WrestleMania 37 challenger as Raw went off the air.
