WWE Release Dexter Lumis

Dexter Lumis let go by WWE

WWE have released Dexter Lumis (Samuel Shaw), according to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.

Lumis is just the latest WWE release today, with the company also having let go Lumis' fellow NXT talents Dakota Kai, Malcolm Bivens, Harland, Persia Pirotta, Raelyn Divine, Mila Malani, Draco Anthony, Sanjana George, and Blair Baldwin.

Lumis had been a member of the WWE roster since joining the company in 2019, spending his entire run on NXT.

He initially debuted on the then-black and gold brand in July 2019, competing in the NXT Breakout Tournament, before he resurfaced on NXT TV in March 2020.

He had been a featured performer on NXT ever since and was involved in a high-profile storyline with Indi Hartwell and The Way in 2021 which resulted in him marrying Hartwell on the September 14 episode of NXT, with The Tortured Artist speaking for the first time on WWE TV.

Lumis had continued to appear on-screen with Hartwell. His final match on WWE TV was an unsuccessful challenge for the NXT Tag Team Titles with Duke Hudson.
