WWE Reveals Further $5 Million In Vince McMahon Payments

More Vince McMahon payments

WWE revealed on Tuesday in an SEC filing that the company has discovered two additional payments in unrecorded expenses totalling $5 million from Vince McMahon made in 2007 and 2009. This brings the unrecorded expenses from the former WWE CEO to $19.6 million.

The company noted the two additional payments were "unrelated to the allegations that led to the Special Committee investigation." All the payments were or will be made by Vince McMahon personally.

As a result of the investigation, WWE informed the SEC that the company will be late in filing their Q2 2022 financial report and the financial reports for 2019, 2020, 2021, and Q1 2022 will be revised.

WWE's filing of further payments comes after a Wall Street Journal report revealed Vince McMahon had paid more than $12 million in hush money between 2006 and 2022 to suppress allegations of infidelity and sexual misconduct. WWE then reported they had uncovered over $14.6 million in payments from Vince McMahon.

Since news of the hush payments emerged, WWE have received or might receive "regulatory, investigative and enforcement inquiries, subpoenas or demands arising from, related to, or in connection with these matters."

Vince McMahon announced his retirement as WWE CEO and Chairman on July 22 and his departure was reportedly hastened by federal prosecutors and the SEC opening investigations into the hush payments.
