WWE WrestleMania 38 Night 2 Results

Following a widely-praised WrestleMania Saturday which featured 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin's first match in 19 years, a new Raw Women's Champion being crowned, an impressive performance from Logan Paul, and the return of Cody Rhodes, WWE presented night two of WrestleMania 38 from Arlington's AT&T Stadium.

Triple H opens WrestleMania Sunday

Following another rendition of 'America The Beautiful', Triple H surprisingly opened WrestleMania Sunday and after he performed his trademark entrance, an emotional Cerebral Assassin placed his wrestling boots in the centre of the ring (having recently announced his retirement from in-ring competition). The Game then welcomed fans to WrestleMania as pyro erupted inside AT&T Stadium. 

RK-Bro (c) def. Alpha Academy & The Street Profits – Raw Tag Team Championships 

Four former Raw Tag Team Champions in The Street Profits and Alpha Academy challenged current champions RK-Bro for the gold in the opening contest of WrestleMania Sunday. 

It didn't take long for the big spots to begin as Montez Ford hit a Swanton over the top turnbuckle to the outside before Chad Gable tried to one-up him with a Moonsault to the floor. 

All three teams then enjoyed time on top in the opening match, with Alpha Academy hitting a Steinerizer on The Street Profits before Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins fired back with a Blockbuster. 

Ford then looked to hit a Frog Splash on Randy Orton but Riddle caught him with an RKO from the top turnbuckle from out of nowhere. Chad Gable came soaring through the air moments later, only to be caught with an RKO from out of nowhere himself by Orton and The Viper covered the Alpha Academy man to record RK-Bro's successful defence. 

Following the match, RK-Bro and The Street Profits were about to drink out of red cups with Gable Steveson, but Chad Gable came in and smacked away the Olympic Gold Medallist's cup. 

Gable then shushed Steveson, but he ended up eating a Belly-To-Belly Suplex from the 21-year-old as the crowd went mild. 

Bobby Lashley def. Omos 

In a feud that only began this week, Bobby Lashley faced Omos in the second match of WrestleMania Sunday. 

In a plodding encounter, Omos dominated much of the match with basic offence, including forearms, elbow strikes and a bear hug.

Lashley tried to apply the Hurt Lock early but Omos escaped. AJ Styles' former colossus couldn't block a Suplex from Big Bobby, though, and the two-time WWE Champion followed up with a Spear to Omos' back before he hit another one to Omos' stomach for the victory. 

Johnny Knoxville def. Sami Zayn - Anything Goes Match

In a feud that has been running since January and has featured a Royal Rumble elimination, one Intercontinental Championship reign, and hundreds of thousands of calls to Sami Zayn's mobile phone, Sami Zayn and Jackass Star Johnny Knoxville faced off in an Anything Goes Match. 

The match turned out to be an absolute hoot, featuring everything from giant mouse traps to a taser to a Wee Man Bodyslam! 

Only moments after the bell rang, Zayn decked Knoxville with a Helluva Kick and he threw the 51-year-old into the barricade right in front of the Jackass crew. Knoxville fired back with a fire extinguisher and both competitors took turns using weapons, with Zayn hitting Knoxville with a baking tray, a crutch, and a trash can before Knoxville fired back with trash can lids and a stop sign. 

Zayn then put Knoxville through a table with an Exploder but he was soon distracted by an appearance from Chris Pontius who stripped and rubbed himself against Sami, disturbing the former Intercontinental Champion. 

Zayn beat Pontius down after he regained his composure and kicked him under the ring, only for Wee Man to appear from under the squared circle. Wee Man then decked Zayn with a Bodyslam for the ages and Knoxville hit a Tornado DDT for a near fall. 

An angry Zayn flattened Wee Man with a Helluva Kick soon after and The Great Liberator went for a splash. Knoxville set off the in-ring pyro, though, and the Jackass Star proceeded to throw a bowling ball into Zayn's testicles before he used a punting machine to kick Zayn right in the nether regions.  

Knoxville used a taser as a weapon next, threatening his opponent, which caused Zayn to run straight into a giant hand on the outside. Zayn's testicles then took even more of a battering with tongs from Knoxville before the Jackass star launched his rival through a mousetrap table at ringside. 

The entire Jackass crew then retrieved a giant mousetrap from under the ring and Knoxville tasered Zayn before he activated the mousetrap to trap Zayn and pin him for the victory! 

Sasha Banks & Naomi def. Carmella & Queen Zelina (c), Rhea Ripley & Liv Morgan, and Natalya & Shayna Baszler – Women's Tag Team Championships 

Queen Zelina and Carmella defended the Women's Tag Team Titles next on the show in a match that featured several multi-woman spots.

Ripley and Morgan looked to have the match won after they hit a Riptide into Double Knees to Naomi but Sasha Banks broke up the pin. The offence then continued to hit Naomi and Natalya and Shayna Baszler went for a Hart Attack but Carmella blocked it. 

Carmella followed up with a Superkick to Naomi but the former SmackDown Women's Champion managed to kick out. Naomi then fought back and Sasha Banks hit Carmella with a Frog Splash for a near fall. Queen Zelina freed her tag team partner from a Bank Statement but Banks fired back with a Meteora to the outside. 

A tag team finisher from Naomi and Sasha Banks to Carmella then followed and they scored the pin as new Women's Tag Team Champions were crowned. 

Edge def. AJ Styles 

After AJ Styles accepted Edge's open challenge for WrestleMania and The Rated-R Superstar proceeded to turn heel on the two-time WWE Champion with a con-chair-to, the two men faced off at The Show Of Shows. 

Sitting on his mountain of omnipotence, Edge entered AT&T Stadium on a throne surrounded by flames, while Styles was bleeding before the match even began due to him walking into the WrestleMania stage during his entrance. 

Once the match got underway both men fought back and forth and Styles made the first big mistake, with Edge getting his knees up on a Springboard 450 Splash attempt.

Edge took control of the contest for the next several minutes, working over The Phenomenal One with methodical offence, targeting Styles' shoulders and ribs. 

The match became more of an even affair from there with Edge connecting with an Edgecution and Edge-O-Matic while AJ hit a Pele Kick and a Suplex on the apron.

Following the Suplex, Styles connected with a 450 Splash in the ring and he went for the Phenomenal Forearm but Edge avoided it. Styles then avoided a Spear attempt and hit the Styles Clash. 

That looked to be it but Edge kicked out at 2.9. Styles was undeterred, though, and he set up for the Phenomenal Forearm. Before AJ soared through the air, Damian Priest appeared at ringside, distracting the two-time WWE Champion, and when Styles did attempt the Phenomenal Forearm a few moments later, Edge caught him with a Spear in mid-air for the victory. 

Damian Priest climbed into the ring after the match and they celebrated together. Edge seemingly has the beginnings of his faction. 

Ridge Holland & Sheamus def. The New Day 

After their match was cut for time at WrestleMania Saturday, The New Day battled Sheamus and Ridge Holland on night two of WrestleMania 38.

Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston honoured their injured faction-mate Big E, wearing singlets, but their entrance was cut short as they were attacked by Sheamus and Holland before the bell. 

Once the official allowed the match to begin, Kofi Kingston caught Ridge with Trouble In Paradise but Sheamus broke up the pin. Sheamus then had to do everything he could to stop Butch from interfering in the contest and The Celtic Warrior decked Kofi Kingston with a Brogue Kick as he went for a dive to the outside. 

Butch's interference then came in handy as he distracted the referee which allowed Sheamus to deck Xavier Woods with a Brogue Kick despite the former World Heavyweight Champion not being the legal man. Ridge, having been presented with such a glorious opportunity, followed up with Northern Grit for the quick win.

After the match, a crazed Butch beat down Xavier Woods, only stopping after he was dragged away by his faction-mates. 

Pat McAfee def. Austin Theory 

A childhood dream came true at WrestleMania 38 as SmackDown Announcer Pat McAfee went one-on-one with Vince McMahon's protégé Austin Theory. 

After entering to Seven Nation Army with the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders, McAfee put in an impressive performance, even commentating on his own match briefly, before he countered an A-Town-Down from Theory into a roll-up for the win.  

McAfee celebrated after the match but he soon started to goad Mr McMahon which only infuriated the chairman of the board, who proceeded to remove his shirt and enter the squared circle, just as an official appeared from out of nowhere. 

Austin Theory then suddenly took out McAfee from behind and the official rang the bell to begin Vince McMahon's first match since WrestleMania 26. 

Mr McMahon def. Pat McAfee

The match featured several Clotheslines from McMahon and Theory interfered on the WWE Chairman's behalf, pulling McAfee into the ring post. It should have drawn a DQ but the referee was ultimately too scared. 

Theory then passed McMahon a Dallas Cowboys football and Vince punted it off McAfee before he covered the SmackDown commentator for the win.

McMahon and Theory celebrated after the match but the immortal glass shattered and 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin made his way to the ring to open a can of whoop-ass on his career rival and his new protégé. 

Theory quickly ate a Stunner from Austin, going flying into the air. The Texas Rattlesnake then briefly downed a beer with McMahon and like years gone by, he decked McMahon with one of the worst Stunners of all time. 

Pat McAfee's WrestleMania dream then only got better as he drank a steveweiser with Austin before The Texas Rattlesnake, of course, Stunnered the SmackDown commentator.

Roman Reigns (c) def. Brock Lesnar (c) - Universal Champion vs. WWE Champion Championship Unification Match

For the third time, Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns faced off in the main event of WrestleMania, this time in a Championship Unification Match.

As soon as the bell rang, Brock Lesnar removed his MMA gloves and he proceeded to dominate the opening minutes, decimating Reigns with a variety of Suplexes. 

Lesnar then advanced towards Paul Heyman as his former advocate claimed he loved Brock, only so he could provide a distraction for Reigns to Spear The Beast Incarnate through the barricade. 

Lesnar managed to make it back in the ring just before the count of 10 but he walked straight into a Spear from Reigns, kicking out at two. 

Roman hit two Superman Punches next but Lesnar got back to his feet laughing and he proceeded to take the Universal Champion to Suplex City. Lesnar then went for an F5 but Reigns escaped and connected with a third Superman Punch before he looked for a second Spear, only to be caught with an F5 from Lesnar. 

Reigns just managed to kick out at the last possible second but the WWE Champion was undeterred and looked for a second F5. Roman managed to escape and he Speared Lesnar into the official, using the moment to Low Bow The Beast and deck him with the Universal Title belt. 

Unlike Royal Rumble, though, Brock kicked out at two and he then survived another Spear from Reigns, this time from behind. 

Reigns looked to connect with a third Spear but Lesnar caught him and applied the Kimura Lock. Reigns seemingly had nowhere to go but Heyman paid dividends as he pushed the bottom rope towards his Tribal Chief, allowing the Universal Champion to reach safety. 

Heyman then pleaded for Reigns to rise up and the Universal Champion did as his special counsel wanted as Roman avoided another F5 and he decked Lesnar with another Spear, pinning him to become the new WWE Champion and remain Universal Champion.
