Braun Strowman Didn't Turn Heel On Last Night's WWE Raw

Another week, another heel turn debate following Becky Lynch's shenanigans on SmackDown Live...

Hello everybody. Another week, another 'did they actually turn heel' debate has surfaced within the WWE Universe. While we're here, even though WWE clearly believe Becky Lynch turned heel at SummerSlam, I firmly believe that she didn't go to the dark side - she was completely justified in everything she did (less said about the promo on the following SmackDown the better, of course). And as for Braun's actions in the Raw main event last night, my opinion is much the same - he was completely justified in everything he did. All you need to do is look at recent goings-on.

For those of you who haven't seen last night's show, big bloody Braun pulled what people from my neck of the woods would call a 'fakey'. He made Roman Reigns look like a right old mug. He pulled The Big Dog's trousers down for the entire WWE Universe to see. There they were, The Significant Canine and The Incredibly Affluent Ogre, in a tag team match against Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre. Roman was doing all the work, Braun was being his number one cheerleader on the sidelines. When the time came for the Universal Champion to tag in the next Universal Champion, the next Universal Champion did nothing. He stood on the apron and allowed The D & D THEY LOVE THE D Express, as Jonathan Coachman called them once upon a time I'm sure, layeth the Smacketh Down in one of the most shocking cases of animal abuse we've seen since the turn of the millennium.

Down came Roman's fellow paintball enthusiasts, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, to make the save - but they were cut off, as the show went off the air with The Shield knocked out on the canvas and Braun, Dolph and Drew raising their massive, sweaty arms in the air.

After last week's Raw I'm sure you all saw that coldest of hot takes circulating on Twitter, where some fella was saying WWE reunited The Shield just to cover up for the crowd booing Roman, dragging Seth and Dean down along with The Big Dog in the process.

Bollocks to that, quite frankly.

A similarly chilly hot take was tweeted to me during last night's show, with many of you believing they've turned Braun heel ahead of his match with Roman inside Hell in a Cell on 16 September. You know, because we have to cheer Reigns and boo whoever he's against, apparently.

Bollocks to that as well, quite frankly.

WWE, in my opinion, are all about shades of gray these days. Just about everything they produce on the main roster shows in 2018 is left up to the audience to work out for themselves. I believe Roman Reigns is the catalyst for this recent change of tact, with the old excuse of 'if they're making noise, whether it be good or bad, that's all that matters' tricking down throughout the rest of the card.

If you believe Braun turned on Raw, that's your call and you stick by it. I disagree with your opinion because I'm a contrarian and probably hate everything about you... I don't mean that, it's just that a number of goings-on involving Braun over recent times means everything he did last night followed the narrative that he's arguably the biggest babyface on Raw today.

Let's start with the fact that Braun and Roman have a long old history of trying to murder each other. I don't know about you, but I get annoyed when people touch my Haribos, so goodness knows how Braun and Roman must feel about their significant other trying to end their life - although, I'm sure that if Reigns was a huge cat, he wouldn't mind so much, safe in the knowledge that he has many lives to use up in the battle against Big Braun.

But that's beside the point...

WWE

Second of all, there was a little segment aired just before last night's main event that showed Braun Strowman clearly saying right into the beautiful face of Roman Reigns, "here mate, I don't like you." Would you help somebody you don't like win a fight they're in? I know I wouldn't. I'd probably film the thing and send it to You've Been Framed or something.

And lastly, we have the thing that ENDZ all the folks saying 'well he attacked Seth and Dean then stood tall with a pair of heels' - remember last week when Seth and Dean were two of the three men who put Braun through an announce table? I do, so what I saw from Braun last night was nothing more than a little slice of revenge, and him raising the hands of both Dolph and Drew, to me at least, only came about because those three men have a common enemy - The Shield.

An enemy of my enemy is my friend... I'm sure it goes something like that.

So there we have it, there are three massive reasons why Braun Strowman's babyface run wasn't sacrificed last night for the good of Roman Reigns. All Braun did was follow the same trajectory he's been on for the last little while with the only difference from the norm being the fact picked up a couple of pals in the process who share the same thoughts as he does! But as I said earlier, just about everything on WWE's main roster shows these days is up to your own interpretation, so if you disagree with me, GOOD! Let's meet up for a fight some time.
