AEW: Dynamite Results - September 8, 2021

Danielson, Cole, and Soho's Dynamite Debut

One of the most highly anticipated episodes of Dynamite in recent memory as the fall out from All Out spills all over Cincinnati.

All eyes were on The Elite after Adam Cole (bay bay) rejoined them at All Out. Tony Schiavone caught up with Omega, Cole and company, with Cole threatening Schiavone over his friendship with Britt Baker. Cole hyped up The Elite as the greatest faction of all time, before Omega patted himself on the back, and called out Bryan Danielson. Danielson challenged Omega to a fight and threatened to kick his head in, before locking in the LeBell Lock on the Belt Collector. The Elite attacked Danielson, before Jurassic Express, Christian Cage, and Frankie Kazarian made the save.

CM Punk spoke after his debut victory against Darby Allin. Punk thanked Allin, Sting and the fans, before shouting out Linda Pillman on the front row. Punk said he didn’t know what was next, as Taz called him out from the broadcast position. Punk said send him Hook, Hobbs, Starks… beat him if you can, survive if he lets you.

Ruby Soho made her Dynamite debut with victory over Britt Baker’s muscle Jamie Hayter. Post-match, Britt, Reba/Rebel, and Hayter beat down Soho before Riho and Kris Statlander made the save.

Home town hero Jon Moxley was in action in the main event against the King of Pancrase Minoru Suzuki. To the surprise of nobody it was an exceptionally hard hitting affair, with a bleeding Suzuki eating  some stiff lariats and two Paradigm Shifts before tasting defeat.

MJF was gloating after his victory over Chris Jericho, and insulted the entirety of Cincinnati, and launched a scathing attack on The Pillman family. This drew the ire of Brian Pillman Jr. who received a massive hometown pop as he ran down MJF and attacked him, before Wardlow made the save. Griff Garrison evened the odds, and later MJF vs. Pillman Jr. was confirmed for Grand Slam at Arthur Ashe.

Elsewhere, Malakai Black defeated Dustin Rhodes. Powerhouse Hobbs sent a message to CM Punk with victory over Dante Martin. The Proud and Powerful put the AEW Tag Division on notice, as did Dan Lambert and The Men of the Year. The Dark Order threatened to implode after a trios loss against The Pinnacle, with several of the order brawling as Anna Jay and Tay Conte looked on disapprovingly.

Full results:

  • Malakai Black def. Dustin Runnels
  • Powerhouse Hobbs def. Dante Martin
  • Ruby Soho def. Jamie Hayter
  • The Pinnacle (FTR & Shawn Spears) def. The Dark Order (Evil Uno, Stu Grayson, & John Silver)
