Ava Raine Undergoes WWE Name Change

Ava Raine is no more

Ava Raine has undergone a WWE name change.

The 21-year-old will now simply be known as 'Ava' going forward as WWE have scrapped her surname for an unknown reason. WWE have a penchant for shortening talent's names and that has seemingly extended into the Triple H era of WWE creative with Raine's name change, although The Game did give Matt Riddle and Austin Theory their first names back upon becoming Chief Content Officer.

The name change comes after Raine was only referred to as Ava on NXT commentary this week during Thea Hail vs. Tiffany Stratton.

Daughter of The Rock, Ava signed with WWE in February 2020 and made her debut at an NXT house show in July 2022 after dealing with injuries. She was revealed as the mouthpiece for The Schism in October 2022. Raine has yet to have a WWE match despite being featured on TV.

Other members of The Schism include Joe Gacy, Rip Fowler, and Jagger Reid. If WWE plan to shorten their in-ring names is unknown.
