Backstage News On WWE-Marigold Working Relationship

It was revealed earlier this week that WWE will expand their working relationship with Rossy Ogawa's Marigold promotion and IYO SKY will face Utami Hayashishita at Marigold Summer Destiny on July 13 inside Ryogoku Sumo Hall.

Speaking with Tokyo Sports, Rossy Ogawa claimed talks with WWE began in March and continued in April when he and Triple H met over WrestleMania 40 weekend. 

"It must be because of my relationship with Giulia. They responded to our request. They said that all that was left was to adjust the schedule, and that was only recently cleared up," Ogawa said.

Giulia will head to WWE later this year and there were reportedly plans in place for the former STARDOM star to debut at NXT Heatwave in early July but those plans are up in the air after Giulia sustained a fractured wrist at Marigold's inaugural event. Giulia is still scheduled to return to the ring, though, at Summer Destiny for a match with Sareee. 

WWE seemingly have big plans to work with Japanese promotions and an announcement about WWE will be made at Pro Wrestling NOAH's event on Sunday, June 16.
