Beth Phoenix: WWE NXT Is "Levelling Up As A Brand”

The Glamazon is optimistic about NXT’s new beginning

Ahead of the debut of WWE NXT’s new identity and refreshed focus, there is an air of caution amongst fans, with many bemoaning the downfall of the NXT that has consistently been one of WWE’s best received shows for most of the past decade.

However, NXT colour commentator Beth Phoenix is optimistic about the brand’s new direction, but acknowledges fan scepticism:

“Oh, I’m so excited! I mean, new beginnings,” said Phoenix on WWE’s The Bump “The thing is, I feel like everybody is a little bit tentative about change, like, ‘what’s going to happen? Is this not going to be the NXT we know and love?’ But that’s not the case at all. We’re levelling up as a brand.

“We’re going to see new faces, new talent, new excitement, new opportunities. Opportunities can beget new, incredible experiences and new matches, new lineups. I feel like our audience is going to be very pleased with the direction that NXT is headed.”

The changes come after Nick Khan promised a new direction for the brand, with Vince McMahon himself said to be overseeing the new NXT.
