Cash Wheeler Reveals His "Dash Wilder" Name Was Inspired By Cody Rhodes

Somewhat against his wishes...

He was once Dash Wilder, and now he's Cash Wheeler. And Wheeler prefers it that way.

While he and Revolt partner Dax Harwood guested on Talk is Jericho this week, Wheeler revealed that the "Dash Wilder" name came from Dusty Rhodes, who didn't have to look far for inspiration. Wheeler, meanwhile, admits he wasn't too keen on what "The American Dream" had come up with.

"I was never in love with the name Dash Wilder," Wheeler reveals. "It wasn't something I wanted initially. On my initial list of names, 'Cash' was at the top of my list. At the time, Dusty was helping us find names in NXT and he liked 'Dash' because of 'Dashing' Cody Rhodes. I've never told Cody that because now I'll never hear the end of it.

"'Cash' was always the name I wanted and I tried to keep a similar last name. My name was a sentence fragment for the past six years. I was never in love with it, but I got used to it. Now, it's a weird transition time."
