Chris Jericho Shows Up In CMLL, Ambushes Mistico
Chris Jericho surprisingly showed up at CMLL
The 2024 Forbidden Door PPV is fast approaching, and the past couple of months have seen plenty of crossover with AEW, NJPW, Stardom, and CMLL stars all appearing in each other’s promotions. Last night at CMLL’s Friday event in Arena Mexico, a big AEW star made his presence very well known.
CMLL star Mistico was in the ring, and he was ambushed by a mysterious assailant, who was wearing a Mistico mask. Mistico was hit with a Codebreaker and Judas Effect, before the man removed the mask to reveal Chris Jericho, to a huge shock to the audience. This wasn’t just to add to the Forbidden Door built though, as Jericho challenged Mistico to a match next week in Arena Mexico on July 5, which was accepted by Mistico.
The pair are both set to be on the Forbidden Door card on Sunday, but they are to be in different matches. “The Learning Tree” Chris Jericho will team up with Big Bill and Jeff Cobb to take on the trio of Samoa Joe, Hook and Katsuyori Shibata, whilst Mistico is teaming up with The Lucha Brothers on the Zero Hour pre-show to take on Yota Tsuji, Titan and Hiromu Takahashi.
