Current Plan For WWE King & Queen Of The Ring House Show Matches Revealed

Update on WWE King & Queen of the Ring plans

While eight matches were originally advertised to take place, only six King and Queen of the Ring matches were held on the May 6 edition of Monday Night Raw, with the company announcing that the first-round matches of Kofi Kingston vs. Rey Mysterio and Shayna Baszler vs. Zelina Vega will take place at house shows this weekend.

Fightful Select's Sean Ross Sapp has reported that WWE are not currently planning to air the full King and Queen of the Ring matches from the live events. WWE will instead air highlights from Kingston vs. Mysterio and Vega vs. Baszler on next week's Raw and possibly social media. Those plans, of course, could be changed by the time Monday night rolls around.

The King and Queen of the Ring tournaments began on WWE Raw on Monday, with Gunther, Jey Uso, and Ilja Dragunov advancing to the second round in the King of the Ring. Gunther will face the winner of Kofi Kingston vs. Rey Mysterio, while Jey Uso will go one-on-one with Ilja Dragunov.

In the Queen of the Ring, IYO SKY, Lyra Valkyria, and Zoey Stark all moved on. Valkyria and Stark will face off in the second round, while IYO SKY will take on the winner of Baszler vs. Vega.

The SmackDown side of the two tournaments will begin on Friday's show from the blue brand.
