EXCLUSIVE: Chelsea Green Says Being Released Was The Best Thing That Ever Happened To Her

Chelsea Green believes her previous WWE release was a blessing

Chelsea Green was released from back in 2021 in the post-WrestleMania cuts, which were allegedly due to “budget cuts” caused by the pandemic. Two years later, Green returned to WWE at the 2023 Royal Rumble event, and in the time since her comeback she has impressed fans and also reigned as WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion.

Speaking exclusively to Cultaholic, Green touched on her WWE release and noted that it was the best thing that happened to her.

“Work is work. I go to work, I do the same thing, I am the same person whether I have Ronald McDonald as my boss or Triple H as my boss. However, this run is different for me because the stress is gone, the pressure is gone. Being released during the pandemic was really, really the best thing that ever happened to me because it brought kind of a new sense of ‘Whatever happens, happens.’ I think if you ask anyone they’ll say that although I’m high strung energy-wise, I’m extremely low anxiety. I’m very relaxed and don’t get stressed for my matches. Whatever happens, happens with my character. What comes out of my mouth comes out of my mouth and we all just pray it’s something and not ridiculous and I don’t get cancelled. 99.9% of the time it’s something funny.”

Chelsea Green also revealed to Cultaholic’s Fraser Porter that she had sent a feeler text out to Tommy Dreamer about a potential crossover.
