Janel Grant's Attorney Issues Statement On 'Mr. McMahon' Docuseries

Ann Callis addresses 'Mr. McMahon' docuseries

Following the release of Mr. McMahon on Netflix, Janel Grant's attorney Ann Callis has said in a statement that the series "only scratches the surface of his criminal behavior" and "fails to tell the full story of his abuse, sexual assault, and human trafficking" of Grant.

Callis issued the following statement:

"The 'Mr. McMahon' docuseries makes it clear there is no difference between Vince McMahon's on-air persona and his true self, they are one and the same. His 'character' - known for violent outbursts, sexual deviance, and manipulation - is the real Vince McMahon and exactly what Janel Grant experienced behind closed doors at WWE for years.

"While the docuseries put McMahon's obsession with power and control on full display, it only scratches the surface of his criminal behavior and it fails to tell the full story of his abuse, sexual assault, and human trafficking of Ms. Grant. She deserves the opportunity to tell her story, on her own time, and in her own way. We look forward to her day in court and to seeing McMahon at last held accountable for his actions."

The lawsuit filed by Janel Grant against Vince McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis was featured in the Mr. McMahon docuseries, but only in the final 30 minutes of the last episode. The documentary was greenlit in 2019 and much of it was completed by the Summer of 2022 when the sexual misconduct and hush money scandal surrounding McMahon began.

Grant sued McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis in January 2024 which led to McMahon's resignation as TKO Executive Chairman. The lawsuit is currently on pause while a federal investigation into multiple allegations of sexual assault against McMahon continues.

Vince McMahon criticised Mr. McMahon ahead of release, claiming "a lot has been misrepresented." The man himself does admit in the final moments of the docuseries that he is no longer sure where Vince McMahon ends and Mr. McMahon begins in an interview taped before June 2022.
