Jim Ross Provides Update On Jerry Lawler

Jim Ross has spoken to Jerry Lawler

Jim Ross has provided an update on his former WWE Monday Night Raw co-commentator Jerry "The King" Lawler.

JR tweeted: "I spoke very briefly with ⁦@JerryLawler tonight. He's obviously weak but I could understand his affected speech. Jerry's prognosis is positive but he needs all our thoughts and prayers. #LoveYaKing."

Jerry Lawler was rushed to hospital on Monday, February 6 after suffering either a stroke or a blood blockage on the right side of his brain. Lawler has since undergone surgery and he is recovering in hospital. Another friend of Lawler's in Dave Brown has noted they are optimistic the Memphis Wrestling legend will recover from his medical emergency.

While no longer a full-time commentator, Lawler has remained a part of WWE in recent years, last appearing on the company's programming on January 28 as part of the Royal Rumble Kickoff Show. He has also continued to compete inside the ring, last wrestling at an independent show on January 21 against The Beer City Bruiser.

Lawler has suffered from serious health issues over the past 11 years. He suffered a heart attack live on Monday Night Raw back in 2012 before a stroke in 2018.
