Matches Slated For WWE NXT TakeOver: Tampa Bay To Air On NXT TV In April

Some quality content while we're in lockdown...

The coronavirus pandemic has caused widespread disruption to WWE and its programming over the past few weeks. Episodes of Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown are currently being broadcast from the WWE Performance Center, WrestleMania 36 has been moved from Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida and will air from multiple locations on April 4 and April 5, and NXT TakeOver: Tampa Bay was cancelled altogether.

On Sunday, the black and gold brand returned to an empty Full Sail University to tape upcoming episodes of NXT, and now WWE has revealed that from April 1 shows will feature matches which were originally scheduled for TakeOver on April 4. Triple H will also appear on tomorrow's episode of NXT, presumably to confirm what bouts fans can expect to see over the next month.

WWE NXT tweeted: "As first reported by @SInow, @TripleH will appear on tomorrow's #WWENXT. The matches originally scheduled for #NXTTakeOver: Tampa Bay will now take place on #NXTonUSA, starting 4/1!"

Before TakeOver was cancelled, only one match had been made official, which was the Ladder match to determine the number one contender for the NXT Women's Championship. So far, Chelsea Green, Mia Yim, and Tegan Nox have qualified for the match. Fans should also expect to see the fourth chapter of Johnny Gargano's and Tommaso Ciampa's rivalry and possibly Adam Cole vs. Velveteen Dream for the NXT Championship.
