More News On WOS Revival

There are some more details behind the revival of World Of Sport Wrestling

Earlier this week it was revealed that WOS Wrestling (FKA World Of Sport Wrestling) would be making its return for the first time since 2019, with tapings taking place later this year on September 14 at Epic Studios in Norwich, with the likes of Grado, Martin Kirby, Sha Samuels, and other notable names already announced.

Fightful Select has found out some more details behind the revival of WOS in terms of backstage reaction, how it came together, and the name of the promotion.

WOS used to air on ITV, but it was revealed that it would be airing on its own website and on X too, and the reported reason for this is due to AEW’s current relationship with their content airing on ITV in the UK. When looking ahead to a TV deal, it is reported that the company will be “shopping” for a deal whilst it tapes its first bit of content in September. Those in the UK wrestling scene have noted that a successful TV deal could lead to “WWE taking NXT Europe off ice.” It is said though that there is an air of excitement behind this news amongst those on the scene.

The new project emerged with the “old crew” coming together, though there were “major players” who rejected being involved. One notable detail behind the return is the name of the promotion, which is notably WOS rather than World Of Sport. This is reportedly due to trademark reasons.
