Report: Motor City Machine Guns Considered A WWE Signing 'For The Future'

Update on Motor City Machine Guns signing with WWE

Although Chris Sabin is 42 years old and Alex Shelley is 41 years old, the signing of the Motor City Machine Guns by WWE is considered one for the future.

That is according to WrestleVotes, who stated on a Q&A:

"They are under contract. They will be heading to the NXT brand. It's more of a signing for the future."

Whether this means the Motor City Machine Guns will take up a coaching role at the WWE Performance Center when their in-ring careers wind down is unknown.

It was revealed earlier this month that Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley had put pen to paper on contracts with WWE. They had been free agents since exiting TNA Wrestling in March and initial rumours suggested they would be signing with AEW. The two sides did hold talks but negotiations ultimately broke down.

The Motor City Machine Guns are expected to make their WWE debuts in the near future, possibly as soon as next week's NXT premiere on The CW from Chicago's Allstate Arena on Tuesday, October 1. The expectation is MCMG will be the faces of the NXT tag team division.
