Report: NXT Reverting To Taped Shows After TakeOver

Not clear if the move is permanent

NXT will be taping its weekly shows instead of running them live for the foreseeable future, according to reports from both Fightful Select and Bryan Alvarez of Figure 4 Weekly.

Both sources are reporting that after next Sunday's TakeOver, NXT will be taping its programming on Monday, August 23 and Tuesday, August 24.

Fightful's report notes that some of the crowd regulars have already been sent e-mails requesting their presence at the upcoming tapings.

Alvarez notes that the taping schedule may not necessarily be permanent, and there is no indication how far into the future the current taping schedule will go.

Two recent episodes (the July 27 and August 3 broadcasts) were taped. This was due to USA Network's participation in Summer Olympics coverage, as NXT was bumped to SyFy for those two weeks.

NXT had long made use of "block" tapings for its weekly shows, recording several one-hour episodes in one shot. NXT went to a live two-hour format on USA Network beginning in 2019, starting several weeks before AEW Dynamite began broadcasting in the same time slot on TNT.
