Report: Powerhouse Hobbs Cleared For AEW In-Ring Return

Powerhouse Hobbs is awaiting creative plans after being cleared to wrestle

An absent AEW star may be on his back to television in the very near future, per a recent report. According to a report from Fightful Select, former TNT Champion Powerhouse Hobbs is currently ready and waiting to return to AEW programming, following an injury which ruled him out of action for around half a year.

Hobbs picked up an injury during an IWGP Heavyweight Championship match which was cut short against Jon Moxley on the April 24 episode of AEW Dynamite, which left him requiring surgery and being taken off TV. Hobbs has reportedly been backstage at AEW’s recent tapings, and within the last few weeks he has been cleared to compete, though as of yet he has not made a comeback. The report states that he has undergone “extensive in-ring testing” prior to being cleared to wrestle, and is awaiting creative plans before an eventual return.

Hobbs was previously part of the Don Callis Family alongside the likes of Konosuke Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher, who have each continued to appear regularly on AEW’s shows. It isn’t known where Hobbs will fit back in when he returns.
