Report: Top WWE WrestleMania 39 Matches Already Planned

Plans already in place for WWE WrestleMania 39

While a lack of long-term planning has become common in WWE in recent years, that doesn't appear to be the case when it comes to WrestleMania 39.

The 2023 edition of The Showcase Of The Immortals is set to take place on April 1 and April 2 from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

In something that may have ramifications for 'Mania, Cody Rhodes said during an advert for the July 2 Money In The Bank pay-per-view that the winners of the namesake ladder matches would get a title shot at The Show Of Shows.

Many believed this to be a mistake but there was confusion within WWE about the specific wording as it suggested there had been a change to the briefcase's stipulation.

In the past, the Money In The Bank briefcase holder has been able to cash in their contract at any time for a title match of their choosing.

In discussing the situation, Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the word coming out of WWE was there was 'nothing definitive either way.'

A person within WWE, however, said Vince McMahon 'has plans already in place for the top matches at 'Mania and the winners of MITB in the title matches wouldn't be that.'

There is no word on what McMahon has planned for WrestleMania 39, although a major match between Roman Reigns and The Rock has long been rumoured for the show.
