Report: Vince McMahon Not At WWE SmackDown, Remotely Made Minor Changes To Tonight's Show

Vince McMahon hasn't ordered major rewrites to WWE SmackDown

While Vince McMahon is once again the head of WWE creative and retains the final say over all creative matters, the Executive Chairman's influence has not been as keenly felt ahead of SmackDown as it was on the April 3 edition of Raw which saw the 77-year-old initiate major rewrites only minutes before the show went on the air.

According to PWInsider Elite, McMahon is not in Portland, Oregon for tonight's SmackDown taping and he reviewed creative plans for the show remotely. McMahon made minor changes to the original script but he did not make major changes.

This has ultimately led to morale improving amongst the WWE roster but there is also still a "wait and see" attitude. Many are hoping that McMahon was only so influential on the Raw after WrestleMania because he was in Los Angeles when the taping took place.

Some within WWE noted that if McMahon continues to review creative plans remotely and doesn't attend TV tapings, shows will be more similar to how they were before WrestleMania 39 instead of like the widely-criticised episode of Raw that aired on April 3.

Vince McMahon re-established himself as the head of WWE creative on the Raw after WrestleMania only hours after WWE had agreed a sale with Endeavor. Triple H remains in his role as Chief Content Officer.
