Report: WWE NXT To Be Taped Due To The Olympics

The black-and-gold brand will be switched for two weeks

Coming episodes of WWE NXT will be reportedly pre-taped next week and banked due to the impending Olympic Games.

The 2020 Summer Olympics - postponed last year due to the COVID-19 Pandemic - is due to begin on Friday 23 July and run until Sunday 8 August.

The Olympic Games are due to air on the USA Network in the United States, which means NXT will not be broadcast in their usual weekly slot on the television network. Instead, according to PWInsider, WWE's black-and-gold brand will switch their weekly television show over to Syfy during the Olympic Games.

That means the 27 July and the 3 August episodes of NXT will be shown on Syfy, with WWE planning to tape at least the first of those two editions next week.

The report indicates that WWE will hold their usual, live NXT broadcast from the Capitol Wrestling Center on Tuesday 20 July, before holding a taping on Wednesday 21 July. The taping will see at least the 27 July NXT pre-taped, although it is possible the 3 August could also get shot as well.

According to Fightful Select, WWE will invite NXT regulars from the crowd to participate in the audience for both shows.
