Report: WWE NXT UK Won't Be Shutting Down

Following abuse allegations against members of the roster...

Over the past 12 days, brave men and women have shared their stories of surviving abuse in the British professional wrestling scene and beyond through #SpeakingOut.

Numerous stories have involved members of the NXT UK roster including Jordan Devlin, Travis Banks and Ligero. WWE previously announced they are taking all allegations very seriously and fired Banks and Ligero over the weekend.

Police forces across the United Kingdom are also investigating cases.

Despite the allegations, Alex McCarthy at talkSPORT reported WWE don't have any plans to close NXT UK and are still committed to their "global localisation" strategy.

McCarthy noted the company thinks the UK brand is worth rebuilding because of stars like WALTER and Kay Lee Ray and the popularity of NXT UK on the WWE Network. The company also spent a substantial amount on the UK Performance Center in London, England and don't want to see that investment go to waste.

Even if WWE wanted to shut the brand down, however, their TV deal with BT Sport would actually prevent them from doing so.
